There are many mechanics that are standard clinician fare; for example, getting to the line of scrimmage on pass plays. Many a reader, forum participant, author, and fellow official has come up with some gems. I do not know who posted them, wrote them, or whom to give credit to. I simply would cut/paste them. I may have even changed some of the wording. Those rate special consideration:

A wise and veteran official who worked many a year of D1 ball told me that as the play develops, scan the line of scrimmage and pay particular attention to the offense.

1. Whenever you see a double team, ignore it and look elsewhere.
