An every down thing

he A-11 offense uses a scrimmage kick formation on first, second, third, and fourth downs; officials need to be cognizant of the numbering exception on every play. As I pointed out in Part IV, a player doesn’t gain the numbering exception (per NFHS 7-2-5b) until he establishes himself as a lineman inside the ends. As you’ll see in the ensuing description, the base formation of the A-11 will provide some initial challenges for the wing officials.
