As I illustrated, don’t underestimate the importance of doing a thorough pregame inspection. It’s an established routine for the crew to take the field 30 minutes before a Friday night varsity game. However, it’s much less the norm for a crew to go through the same procedures for a 4:30 p.m. freshman game on Tuesday. But, here's a commandment:

Thou shalt inspect the field before all of thy games.
