Who officiated Super Bowl XLII?

he answer is truly "Who cares?" because they were a non-factor in one of the most exciting Super Bowl games in its 42-year history. The game had ten penalties, one review, two measurements, and most of all — nothing controversial. One note: Some spectators think that equality of penalties is the mark of a well-called game. This game will surely tickle their fancy: The Giants were penalized four times for 36 yards; the Patriots, six times for 35 yards.

The game was featured as the coronation of the Patriots' dynasty: The defeat of the underdog New York Giants would leave New England with a 19-0 season. Unfortunately, the New York Giants did not read the script; as you know, they upset the Patriots 17-14, on the strength of a touchdown pass from Eli Manning to Plaxico Burress with thirty-five seconds remaining.
