art III identified several basic categories of information that — at a minimum — you ought to include in your officiating journal. I gave you an example in each category, so now let's take the next logical step, which is using that information to improve.

Controversial plays

The example here involves a Line Judge and Back Judge, both in position to rule on a pass play 20 yards downfield and near the sideline. The receiver is perpendicular to the sideline as he leaves the field of play, and both officials have a view of the ball. The Back Judge immediately signals incomplete because he judged that the receiver did not have possession of the ball before his left foot touched out of bounds.
