Still out of bounds
concluded the previous installment with some commentary on the covering official dropping a beanbag at the sideline for an out of bounds spot. On a 5-man crew, the Back Judge can typically provide assistance in policing players when they head out of bounds, so you should not need to use the beanbag.
But when you’re working a 4- or 3-man crew and you have no Back Judge to assist, the wingman may need to mark the out of bounds spot with a bag so he can police the actions of the players who just went out of bounds. This is even more essential when the action flows into the team box.
