A little about me
t is great once again to put pen to paper — more like "key to pixels" — for officiating.com. I hope to write interesting and informative pieces to advance officiating of football at the high school level.
The plan is to write, at least, two to three stories a month; and if I don’t, my phone will ring with my editor Papa Carl wanting to know why not.
It was fun watching all the events surrounding the Super Bowl. I was living in Detroit for Super Bowl XVI, and I can say unequivocably that the events surrounding the game have grown exponentially. It is no wonder the number one sport is football, and it only gets better with the round-the-clock coverage of the NFL Network.
As I prepared to blog Super Bowl XLI, Papa C said I should give the readers a peep into the setup. "Where will you do all this time-sensitive stuff?" is the elegant way he put it.
Here is the family room. The family is small, me and the wife. HDTV is absolutely great and gives a view as good if not better than being there. In case of rain, no umbrella is required.

It doesn’t stop there; it extends back to the office, where the household computer servers sit. The connection to the outside world is a 20MB fiber optic pipe that delivers phone, broadband, and television. Add to that a wireless router enabling connection anywhere in the house. So, the night of the of the game, I was in the family room: watching, writing and transmitting the big story.
