he promised battle for the BCS Championship has become a rout, with Florida scoring late in the second quarter to lead 34-14 at the halftime break. The game started with a kickoff return by Ohio State followed by a near kickoff return by Florida that was spoiled by a face mask personal foul by the one player who could stop the return, the kicker. They don’t practice tackling anyway.

One "further review," will be the subject of controversy but only because the sports' writers don't have anything to write about..

So the game resumes.

Third quarter

14:48 Florida commits one of their few mistakes when the snap goes over QB Leak’s head. He recovers the ball and throws it out of bounds. That might have been intentional grounding in the NFL because he never left the tackle box. But NCAA has no such rule.

11:18 Florida’s Earl Everett loses his helmet in chasing OSU QB Smith. It was the paradigm of Florida's to capture the national championship. Later, Everett is shown on the sideline with a bloody nose and a cut on his face. He got patched up and returned to the game.
