he lone fundamental statement under "blocking" requires you to know first, what blocking is; and second, what kick-catching interference or pass interference, personal fouls, and illegal blocks are.

Here's the actual fundamental statement.

Fundamental VIII Blocking

1. Blocking by either team is permissible, unless it is kick-catching interference or pass interference, a personal foul or an illegal block.

Case play

On 3rd and 5 from B's 20, A22 catches a backward pass from A7 and runs around the right end and toward the sideline. Tackle A67 is leading the play and blocks linebacker B45 at the knees, allowing A22 to reach B's 13 yard line before being pushed out of bounds by B16.
