et’s review where we left off last time. The year is 1874, and we have two factions of American football. One is Harvard, which has had their own Boston game, now modified to adopt many aspects of a game played by Montreal’s McGill College. The second faction is the Intercollegiate Football Association (IFA), which includes the schools of Yale, Princeton, Columbia, and Rutgers. The IFA basically plays a game that resembles today’s soccer while the Harvard game is more like modern rugby.
