Officiating.com: Why are you an NFL official? Why do you continue year and in year out?

Nemmers: The real reason I officiate: I get to deal with class athletes, coaches, and organizations. I get to deal with people like Archie Manning, Peyton Manning, Joe Montana, who is a class act on and off the field. Then there are guys like Barry Sanders, next to Walter Payton, probably the best running back of all time. I also get to deal with coaches like Bill Parcels and Dick Vermeil, the coach at Kansas City, and the late Tom Landry.
