Pregame program

First of all. The theme of the Super Bowl this year was "Building Bridges." To illustrate that ethic, the pre-game show featured Gretchen Wilson handing off to Charlie Daniels and then the Black Eyed Peas handing off to Earth Wind and Fire. Building Bridges? It was like Iowa handing off to Nebraska.

Sure, there is a sign, but is it really different? To wrap up the number, the Black Eyed Peas gave shout outs to Earth Wind and Fire, Charlie Daniels, and..... the Black Eyed Peas. Gretchen Wilson was left off. Twangy country was put in its place!

My first wardrobe malfunction reference is that I was honestly terrified that Charlie Daniels would have one. Please, NO! Conversely, I would not have objected so vigorously had the same fate befallen Fergie

The wardrobe is the first thing in mind with the officiating crew today. They are wearing hats with full NFL logos on the front. They kind of look as if they are running the chains, or maybe working security with those hats on. I guess there won't be any difficulty in seeing who they work for!

The crew for the game is that of seven-year veteran Terry McAulay. The crew has three guys from other crews since the other members of his group did not have the minimum 5 years experience to work the game (if they had the same rule for players, Tom Brady would be appearing in his first Super Bowl, not his third!). However, the bunch is largely intact.  Here they are:
