Canada's pro league has a final also

his years' Grey Cup is being played in lovely Regina Saskatchewan. You may snicker at either name now....

The Edmonton Eskimos are facing the Montreal Alouettes for the second consecutive season. While Montreal was widely favoured last year (and they won), Edmonton seems to be favored this time round. The game starts out with the obligatory fly-by from fighter jets. This being Canada, there were two fighters, not four or five. The US has the missing man formation, Canada has the missing budget formation!

People are coming over today to watch the game, and the Packer-Bucs game at the same time. I will do what I can to keep you updated on the officials north of the 49th.

Let the game begin

13:00 - Edmonton scores on a long play. This is how the CFL works. You only have three downs, so you go short, then go long, then punt or score.

11:00 - The first punt of the game. The ball fluttered around on the ground for a while before the Edmonton player picked it up. Since the halo rule applies even after the ball hits the ground, Montreal takes a 'No Yards' penalty. Edmonton will start their second drive with pretty good field position.
