You mean I have to keep studying?

Someone once told me that if you study any subject for an hour each day, you'll eventually be an expert on that subject. Now, while devoting an hour of each day to studying football rules and mechanics might be unrealistic, if you're new and want to do it right, you have to put in the time.

Get a routine....

You have a regular routine for a lot of your regular activities. If you want to master the rules of football, you have to establish a routine for studying.

Find a block of time each week to devote to rules and mechanics study. If you say you don't have time, then be creative. Let's say you run your kids to soccer practice or an orchestra rehearsal. Take your books and get in an hour of studying, and don't forget to take along a notebook: That's another essential tool in your study routine. More about that in Part III.
