Where's the restroom?

If you've never officiated before, getting started might feel like trying to find your way around that first day of school years ago. If you don't already know an official who can point you in the right direction, you can turn to the internet for lots of useful information. Start with a simple search that will garner a handful of sites with "official"-sounding names, alphabet soup acronyms, state officiating associations, and so on. For example, a recent search for "football officiating" on Google yielded a variety of association web sites, books, and, of course, "Officiating.com." Click on the "Start Officiating" link on the Officiating.com home page, and you'll find a great outline that will step you through all the things you need to know to get started.
