Certainly some things are "out of bounds," but many things are better left unheard for the sake of a smooth football game. Following are some principles for wing officials that can make your game run more smoothly.
Knowledge of the rules
Here is an assumed given for any position in an officiating crew. It is impossible to enforce the rules if you don't know what they are. Before every season, the officials expecting to work the wings should review all the rules, but should concentrate most heavily on Rules 4, 5, 6, and 7. A major portion of calls expected from wing officials will be found within those rules.
