his series has been an attempt to point out areas where the NCAA Football Rulebook can be simplified and made more “reader friendly.” If you are just now joining us, please review Parts I & II for rules 1 through 7, then continue with us through the NCAA Rulebook in our quest to make it more easily readable and understandable. If you have kept up with us through the series, consider these additional places where the reading of rules could be simplified.

Rule 8.5.1.Exceptions: This is another example of two five-line statements with the only difference being catch vs. recovery.
