ven though in a football game we sometimes blink and see what is not there, what we thought we saw becomes what is. The same concept applies to fans and coaches perception of officiating.
It seems that more and more I am hearing coaches and fans complain about officials being incompetent, stupid, uncaring, or even prone to cheating during football games. This comes from all levels from the pros to the peewees. Part of the apparent problem comes from enhanced communications - televised games, instant replays, cell phones, and the internet. There probably is no higher percentage of mistakes being made today than was the case twenty years ago, we just hear more about it.
