n official who expects to remain at the top of his game every night and be the best that he can be must play a constant game of “what-if” in order to be ready for the reversal and transition when things do not go according to plan. And, it is very obvious that many times they do not. The official who is ready for the unusual is the one who is successful.
Coverage responsibility can change in the blink of an eye and all action can move quickly in the opposite direction. The official must always remain alert, concentrate on the task at hand, and be prepared for any weird change of action that may transpire.
