Why ain't I there?
Your regular season assignments are over, and you go to watch some of the local playoff games. Your jaw drops as you see which crew is on the field working the game! You might start to think: "We are better than they are! What gives?" Does that complaint sound familiar?
The very nature of officials is that we all have a huge ego, or we would not do what we do. This sometimes causes us to see the world of officiating with blinders on. Every crew thinks that they can handle the top game in town and that the coaches or assignors made a mistake when another crew got the game instead. Maybe it is time to head to the "referee ego doctor."
