Too Much is Worse Than Not Enough

he quickest way for a crew of football officials to mess up a good football game is to get in the way. You are there, not as the main attraction, not even second billing, but simply to see that neither team is able to develop an unfair advantage in the game. The coaches came to have the players look to them for guidance and direction that will hopefully allow them to display their talents and prevail in the score that night. The players came to display their talents and mesh them together as a team and outplay the team on the other side. The fans came to watch and cheer the players on their respective teams. Nobody came to watch a show put on by a group of guys in striped shirts with yellow flags, so the best action for the officiating crew is to be as unobtrusive as possible while doing your job.
