The game of football is a sporting event and both the NCAA and high school levels, we expect players and coaches to treat the game, as well as fans, officials, and opposing players, with respect and proper sportsmanship. To demand decorum and appropriate behavior in the game, numerous rules of conduct have evolved into playing rules over the years.
