Officiating high school football is an extension of the classroom. As officials, we must consider ourselves as educational consultants and conduct ourselves in an appropriate professional manner. Coaches and players don’t expect perfection from the officiating crew, but they do expect equal application of the rules, a sincere effort to be in position to make the calls, and courteous, professional behavior in all interactions. An official who lives by this code of conduct will be easily forgiven for missing an occasional call and will be highly sought for the tough assignments.
