Editor’s Note: NFHS Rules

Once the ball is snapped, any eligible Team A player may go downfield. Offensive pass interference restrictions apply to Team A players from the moment of the snap. If an ineligible Team A player goes downfield but does not touch a forward pass that crosses the line of scrimmage, the penalty is ineligible downfield – a five-yard penalty. Should an ineligible Team A player touch the forward pass, it is pass interference and the penalty is 15-yards and loss of down.
